The Field of Dreams R/C Club welcomes all who enjoy or are interested in
​Radio Control Model Aircraft or Control Line Model Aircraft flying.
OUR PURPOSE:
  • To maintain an assembly of persons interested in the promotion and encouragement of radio control modeling.
  • To assist its members in the construction, operation and flying techniques of radio controlled model aircraft.
  • To promote safety in all phases of the hobby.
  • To provide a forum where members may exchange views and ideas concerning model aircraft.
  • To encourage youth membership and participation in the hobby.
  • To, through its duly elected officers, represent the membership to government or private agencies in matters of interest to the Club.

WE CAN HELP
If you are not currently proficient at model flying, the club can provide instruction free of charge to enable you to fly safely as a solo pilot.

THE SITE
Our flying field features an 80 x 500 ft grass runway and parking for flyers and spectators located off Negus Rd. on Redmond Parks & Rec. property behind the High Desert Sports Complex and next to Smith Rock BMX. 

​COME TO A MEETING
Not every club is a "fit" for every person. If you're thinking of joining, come to one of our meetings and get to know some of the members. It's a good opportunity to make some contacts if you're going to need help getting started. Club meeting times are listed on the calendar. Memberships
$60   Regular Membership:
  • All applicants must have a current AMA membership. 
  • Regular Membership annual Dues are currently $60 and are due no later than January 31st.
  • The dues of New Members who join between Oct. 1st and Dec. 31st will cover membership until the end of the following year. 
  • Regular Members in good standing who renew by Jan. 15th get a $10 discount.
$30   Family Membership:
  • This membership is for flyers who are immediate family members living in the same household with a regular member.
  • Family Membership annual dues are currently $30 and are also due no later than January 31st.
  • Family Memberships in good standing that renew by Jan. 15th get a $5 discount.
FREE   Youth Membership:
  • Anyone under the age of 16 on January 1st with current AMA membership may also become a member.
  • There is no charge of any kind. 
  • An AMA Youth license is required to fly and can be obtained for as little as $1 per year through age 19.

Field of Dreams is an AMA Chartered Club.
It is MANDATORY that all Flyers at the Field of Dreams have a current AMA license.
​AMA membership provides limited liability insurance which is required prior to flying at our facility.

What is AMA?
AMA is the Academy of Model Aeronautics.
AMA is the world's largest sport aviation organization, representing a membership of more than 170,000 from every walk of life, income level and age group.
AMA is a self-supporting, non-profit organization whose purpose is to promote development of model aviation as a recognized sport and worthwhile recreation activity.
AMA is an organization open to anyone interested in model aviation.
AMA is the official national body for model aviation in the United States.
AMA sanctions more than a thousand model competitions throughout the country each year, and certifies official model flying records on a national and international level.
AMA is the organizer of the annual National Aeromodeling Championships, the world's largest model airplane competition.
AMA is the chartering organization for more than 2,500 model airplane clubs across the country.
AMA offers its chartered clubs official contest sanction, insurance, and assistance in getting and keeping flying sites.
AMA is the voice of its membership, providing liaison with the Federal Aviation Administration, the Federal Communications Commission, and other government agencies through our national headquarters in Muncie, Indiana.
AMA also works with local governments, zoning boards, and parks departments to promote the interests of local chartered clubs.
AMA is an associate member of the National Aeronautic Association. Through NAA, AMA is recognized by the Fédération Aéronautique Internationale (FAI), the world governing body of all aviation activity, as the only organization which may direct U.S. participation in international aeromodeling activities.
